Malinda Mata is a skilled trial attorney and is Of Counsel with Walter Law Firm, PC. Malinda’s
practice is focused primarily on disputes involving real estate, construction defects, contracts,
collections, equine law, and liens. She has represented clients in a variety of cases ranging from
complex multi-party lawsuits to individual claims, and provides corporate counsel to mid-size and
small businesses with active participation in daily management, including contract negotiations
and preparation, regulatory compliance, real estate transactions, advertising and marketing legal
review, construction and project development, mergers and acquisitions, employee/labor policies,
and equine-law issues.

Malinda grew up in Georgia, and received her Bachelor of Arts from Emory University, 1987. She
moved to Texas in 1994, and her Juris Doctor from South Texas College of Law, 2004. Professional
licenses and associations include admission to the State Bar of Texas, 2004, and admission to the
US District Court, Southern District of Texas, 2005. In addition to practicing law, Malinda is an avid
dressage rider and horsewoman. She owns and manages PM Bishop Farm, a boutique breeding
and training farm devoted primarily to the Lusitano horse.
